The Friends Academy After-School Program provides a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for students at the end of the school day until 5:30pm.
After-School Program activities are as varied as the children themselves. All students have access to school facilities including the gym, the playground, and other outdoor areas. Daily snacks are provided. The After-School Program is led by dedicated, experienced staff, many of whom also substitute teach or support classroom teachers during the school day.
The same expectations for appropriate behavior for the school day apply to the After-School Program. You must sign up in advance for after-school care (no drop-ins).
Throughout the year, the After-School Program offers different enrichment options. These may include cooking classes, technology workshops, dance classes, photography, chess, and other academic, creative, or athletic opportunities.
Enrichment courses typically begin in September, January, and April. Course descriptions along with dates, times, and costs are communicated with families prior to the beginning of each session. Pre-registration is required.
2022-23 Enrichment Program Information:
Hours of Operation
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 3:05-5:00pm
- Fridays: 2:10-5:00pm
- Extended Care until 5:30 available for an additional fee
The After-School Program begins in September and ends on the last day of school in June. We observe all school holidays.
The After-School Program follows the same snow day policy as Friends Academy. If emergency snow conditions develop during the day, the program may be canceled even if regular classes are in session. In this case, parents who have registered their children for after-school care will be notified during school hours.
The cost is $17 per afternoon ($21 for Fridays). Registration and payment is through CampBrain.
If you need after-school care unexpectedly and you have not signed up in advance for the After-School Program, please contact the Main Office at (508) 999-1356 as soon as possible.
With questions, please contact Director of External Programs Lesley Heyl.
