2020 Summer Work
Following a spring of distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking a different approach to summer work. As a school, priority was given to students and families taking June to recharge and rejuvenate. Our goal was for students to have time away from screens and devices.
July is dedicated to online short courses designed to engage students and provide opportunities to socialize safely and think creatively. Students may still sign up for weeks three and four.
We encourage all students to read daily. Find suggested summer reading on the FA Library website.
In August, we will look to ramp up for the fall term. For mathematics, students should access their IXL accounts and review concepts from the previous grade. Students in grades 3 and up may refer to the FA Summer Math website for guidance. Please note, with summer work taking a different format this year, students are not expected to follow the monthly timetable. Students and families should look at the suggested concepts and review those which are most helpful. In August, students should continue to read daily.
