Coffee Pond will be taking individual and class group pictures in the Commons on Friday, Sept. 27.
When your child’s proofs are ready to be viewed, you will receive an email and password from Coffee Pond, and you will be able to order pictures online from their website. Be sure to have your spam blocker set to accept emails from email@example.com. If you do not receive your child’s password within a few weeks after picture day, please contact Coffee Pond directly at that email address.
If you would like to walk your child into school during drop offs in the morning, please park your car in the parking lot. We ask that you please do not leave your car unattended along the front curb by the entrance. This is to prevent traffic jams and help our students stay safe.
Join Ben Kennedy, Head of School, along with Kathryn Goodfellow, President of the Board of Trustees, to discuss Friends Academy’s strategic vision during a series of morning conversations on Fridays in October in Mr. Kennedy’s office. These conversations are an opportunity to weigh in on the future of FA.
Conversations With the Head will take place on Friday, Oct. 4 at 8:15 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 11 at 8:15 a.m.; and Friday, Oct. 18 at 8:15 a.m. Space is limited, so make sure to sign up now for a date.
We tested the campus emergency alert system on the morning of Monday, Sept. 16. If you did not receive these test messages via email, phone, and text message on Monday morning around 9:30 a.m., please contact Katherine Furtado.
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to treat the campus perimeter that abuts the woods with an organic tick and mosquito control solution. Treatment took place on Sunday, Sept. 8 and will take place again on Sunday, Sept. 22 and every 21 days thereafter leading up to the first hard frost. Out of an abundance of caution, the previously announced changes to outdoor activities this fall will remain in place until further notice.
We have extended signups for lunch offerings. This fall, we will be offering lunch options on Tuesdays (pizza), Wednesdays (healthy lunch), Thursdays (soup), and Fridays (Subway). Visit the School Forms page to download the lunch forms for each day. If your child signs up for lunch this coming week, they will receive lunch beginning the following week.
If you would like to enroll your child in after-school care or study hall (Homework Club), please complete the registration form and return it to Ms. Furtado in the business office along with the registration fee. There are also several enrichment offerings including yoga, math, science, knitting, and bowling.
In the paradigm of how music has been taught and shared for centuries, Song Circles continue and foster this tradition in our community. Sing, play, and share songs at these monthly gatherings for parents and community members. Hosted by Putnam Murdock. The first Song Circle will take place on Friday, Oct. 4 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Commons. Bring your acoustic instruments.
