General Admissions Questions
Friends Academy looks for students who are joyful, curious, and engaged learners. Children who are generous of heart and inclusive and compassionate friends will fit into our school seamlessly. Above all else, we want to make sure that the student will be academically and socially successful at Friends Academy. This is determined by a variety of factors that are explored during the admissions process: the visit to Friends, school transcript, and the teacher recommendation all help us determine if there is a good fit.
No. Our admissions process is on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Students applying to our Early Childhood program must be three years of age by September 1.
Students applying to kindergarten must be five years of age by September 1.
Financial Aid Questions
Yes. Friends Academy is committed to the socioeconomic diversity of its student body. Each year, approximately 40% of the student body receives financial assistance.
Applying for financial aid does not have an impact upon a student’s admission decision. The Admissions Committee meets first to make decisions on the candidacy of each applicant. Files of those students who qualify for admission are then sent to the Financial Aid Committee, if tuition assistance is needed. Notifications for both admissions and financial aid are on a rolling basis.
