Friends Academy’s enrollment process is rolling, meaning that you can apply for the upcoming school year whenever you choose to do so. We also may have immediate openings for the current school year if space permits.
Not ready to apply yet? Please complete this short inquiry form to start a conversation with Friends Academy. We’ll get in touch with you to learn more about your child and answer your questions.
1. Submit an online application through Ravenna
Create a Ravenna account and add your child as a student. Then search for Friends Academy (listed in the School Directory under “Providence Area”) and click Apply. Note: If you are applying for immediate entry, please make sure to select “Interested in school year 2020-2021” while submitting your application.
Through your Ravenna account, please designate a teacher/child care provider to complete a Teacher Evaluation form. When you add your child’s current teacher’s name and email address, the teacher will receive a link to a secure Teacher Evaluation form. Friends will automatically receive the evaluation once the teacher fills out the form.
2. Send school records
Sign a Student Records Release Form and submit it to your child’s current school. They can send school records directly to us via digital upload, fax, or regular mail.
3. Schedule a virtual visit
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to welcome visitors during the school day at this time. We are using Zoom to meet with families during the enrollment process.
To schedule a virtual visit, please email Director of Enrollment Peter Bidstrup. Additional calls and/or campus visits (after school hours) may be scheduled as necessary.
Notification of Admission Decision
The Admission Committee reviews all completed applications in a timely manner (usually within a few days). We will email you with our decision. If you have applied for financial assistance, you will be notified when you receive your admission decision.
We ask that families notify Friends within two weeks of receiving their decision whether they choose to accept, defer, or decline enrollment.
Sally Borden Program Admissions
For information about applying to the Sally Borden Program for students with language-based learning differences, please email Director of Enrollment Peter Bidstrup with your child’s name and age, grade applying for, and your phone number. If you have educational testing reports for your child, please include those with your email.
If you have any questions about enrollment at Friends Academy, please email Director of Enrollment Peter Bidstrup.
