Friends Academy’s enrollment process is rolling, meaning that you can apply for the upcoming school year whenever you choose to do so. We also may have immediate openings for the current school year if space permits.
If you would like to learn more about Friends Academy before you apply, please complete this short inquiry form. We’ll get in touch with you to learn more about your child and answer your questions.
Application Checklist
1. Submit an online application
Create an account on Blackbaud to begin your application. You will be asked to provide your child’s name, birth date, and grade level, and then you will be directed to complete a full application.
- Students who are applying to Kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 1.
- Students who are applying to Early Childhood must be 3 years old by September 1.
Through your account, please designate a teacher/child care provider to complete a Teacher Evaluation form. When you add your child’s current teacher’s name and email address, the teacher will receive a link to a secure Teacher Evaluation form. Friends will automatically receive the evaluation once the teacher fills out the form.
2. Send school records
Sign a Student Records Release Form and submit it to your child’s current school. They can send school records directly to us via digital upload, fax, or regular mail.
3. Schedule a visit
To schedule a visit during your application process, please email Director of Enrollment Peter Bidstrup.
You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get to know us and see what’s happening around school.
Notification of Admission Decision
The Admission Committee reviews all completed applications in a timely manner (usually within a few days). We will email you with our decision. If you have applied for financial assistance, you will be notified when you receive your admission decision.
We ask that families notify Friends within two weeks of receiving their decision whether they choose to accept, defer, or decline enrollment.

For information about applying to the Sally Borden Program for students with language-based learning differences, please email Director of Enrollment Peter Bidstrup with your child’s name and age, grade applying for, and your phone number.
